Richard Lui is a veteran journalist, filmmaker and author. He is currently a news anchor for MSNBC and NBC News. In 2007, he became the first Asian American man to anchor a daily national news broadcast in the U.S. He has covered every U.S. national election since 2004; has interviewed hundreds of politicians, from Detroit's mayor to the U.S. president; and has reported on nearly every seminal international event in the last decade.

For 25 years, Richard has been a thought leader at the intersection of media, social impact and storytelling, and he has used his platform to tell stories of equality and human and civil rights not often heard. Much of his investigative reporting also includes issues of equal access to health care, professional development, education for women and girls.

Before becoming a journalist, Richard spent 15 years in business launching six tech brands over three tech cycles. He has worked at Citibank and IBM and in Silicon Valley tech startups. A fintech patent holder on payments, Richard often addresses Fortune 500 and Silicon Valley tech firms on media and digital-social storytelling at the intersection of television, technology and business. Richard graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in rhetoric with honors and holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
